What to expect.

Dr. Vladana O'Neill is highly experienced in the safe and effective insertion of Implanon. Here's what to expect during the insertion procedure:

  2. Preparation:

    • The skin on the upper arm is cleaned, and a local anesthetic is applied to numb the area.

  3. Insertion:

    • Using a small applicator, the Implanon device is gently inserted just under the skin. The entire process usually takes just a few minutes.

  4. Aftercare:

    • A small bandage will be applied to the area.

    • Mild bruising or soreness may occur for a few days, but most women can resume normal activities immediately after the procedure.

  4. Aftercare:

    • A small bandage will be applied.

    • Most women experience minimal discomfort and can return to their daily activities shortly after the removal.
